One Way to Get to Arizona
Mildred De Szendeffy
An autobiographical adventure about a woman fulfilling a lifelong dream of leaving home after graduation to find out what life in Miami, Florida, in wartime, 1942, was all about. Along with two high school girlfriends, the three found out in spades, having the time of their lives meeting hundreds of highly eligible wartime bachelors in Miami; proceeding from there to working in one foreign country after another for the government. Not one of the girls ever regretted leaving her home state of New Jersey to explore the world she had, so far, only heard about. On the contrary, each and every one of them would volunteer in a heartbeat to relive the entire experience. Later, the author continues her journey, taking you along with her from V-day to, eventually, arriving on a desert doorstep Arizona.
