Minding the Gap

Trishka Saffery's work spans issues of contested identity like faith, nationality and heritage; and draws on her experience as a white South African political exile living in England during the apartheid era. This inspirational and intensely personal collection of short poems was written over the last forty years. Her work often deals with difficult subjects - relationships, religion, politics and old age - and uses humour, curiosity and penetrating analysis to navigate challenging personal territory.
