Published in 1863, this biography of Andrew Reed (1787–1862) was compiled by two of his sons, using extracts from his journals. Reed was an ordained Congregational minister, an energetic philanthropist and a campaigner for social reform. He helped to found numerous charitable institutions including the London Orphan Asylum.
