Aristarchus of Samos was the first astronomer to propose a heliocentric model of the solar system. This 1913 Greek edition of his only surviving treatise, with facing-page English translation, was prepared by Sir Thomas Little Heath (1861–1940). It is prefaced by a substantial history of ancient Greek astronomy.
