The Day

The Day follows the life of the main character Bobby Daniels as he deals with the unthinkable turn of events. The story begins with the unexplained deaths of every person on Earth over the age of thirteen. Now the surviving children must learn to live without the guidance and protection of adults or older teens. No one knows why they all died, but the cause of their deaths soon becomes irrelevant as their familiar society begins to crumble before their eyes. These children must now deal with disposing tens of thousands of dead bodies, acquiring food and supplies, the care of younger children and the inevitable reality of losing electrical power. Thirteen year old Bobby has become the caretaker and leader of a small group of kids and he is determined to protect them from the chaos that is erupting around them including armed gangs. Bobby soon befriends a charismatic boy named David Townson who has also taken on the leadership role of a much larger group of children. David believes it is his purpose to lead the youth into creating a sustainable and well armed society. David believes without unity amongst the intelligent and strong the city as well as the world would fall into anarchy and he is determined not to let that happen. Although Bobby is content with taking care of his small close knit family he eventually finds himself being sucked into David's city wide and beyond plan for their future. How will they survive and will they survive? Only time will tell. The Day is a teen novel and a compelling story of tragedy, survival, death and destiny and is set in Jacksonville, Fl.
