This booklet is not a substitute for therapy or counseling. However, teachers often find themselves in a situation that requires them to intervene in the social/emotional lives of the children put in their care eight hours a day. Children more and more seem to lack appropriate strategies for dealing with the frustrations which come into their daily lives. Sometimes it is very appropriate for teachers to purposely and directly instruct their students in how to manage frustration and anger.
