Microarrays:: Its Development and Application
Aman Batra
The first technology, and the focus of this book, is a device called a fluid microplotter that uses ultrasonics to deposit picoliter volumes of fluid onto a surface. The second is a means of using cold plasmas to chemically treat the surfaces of a wide range of materials in order to covalently bind biomolecules to them. While the primary focus in the development of these technologies has been to improve microarray production, they both have a number of applications outside of this field.
