Transparent Semiconducting Nanostructures by Sol-gel Dip Coating: Effect of Fe Dopping on Bismuth Oxide, Tin Oxide and Zinc Oxide Nanostructures
Timonah Nelson Soitah
This monograph is indented for undergraduate students in their final years of study and post graduate students or researchers in the fields of material science. First, the general properties of nanostructured transparent oxide semiconductors are discussed and their applications in many vital fields such as in the dye-based solar cells, chemical/gas sensors, optical devices, catalysts, field effect transistors, ultraviolet (UV) photo detectors, light emitting diodes (LEDs) and piezoelectric devices. The Sol-gel dip coating method is employed in the preparation of various nanostructured transparent oxide semiconducting films (Bismuth oxide, Fe doped Bismuth oxide, Fe-doped Tin Oxide and Fe doped Zinc Oxide). And finally, X-ray Diffraction Study, Surface Morphological Properties, Ultraviolet?Visible Absorption Spectroscopy, Electrical Measurement and Photocatalytic Studies are carried out on these materials.
