Brook and the Book

The Rapid Reading book series allows readers to slowly acquire the decoding skills needed in the right order to learn to read and become fluent readers. The series contains interesting, colorful stories with the reading skill emphasized on every page. The constant repetition of prevalent decoding skills allows readers to quickly and efficiently practice the sounds, thereby internalizing them and becoming fluent readers. Book 10 of the series emphasizes the "oo" word family and follows Brook, a girl who reads a book about Woody and has imagines that she sees the characters at the end of the book. This book begins the third set of the series (books 10-13), which improves fluency reading stories with the word families "oo", "ay", "all", and "ight".
