Psychopathic, indiscriminate killer Frederick J. Frenger, Jr. (Alec Baldwin), fresh out of prison, and Susie (Jennifer Jason Leigh), a prostitute who he meets in a hotel, set up house together and play at being middle-class suburbanites.

While Junior goes on a killing spree disguised as a cop, they are pursued by middle-aged Sergeant Hoke Mosely (Fred Ward) - the man from whom Junior stole his gun, police badge and dentures.
