Talviyö

The new album of the popular Finnish prog and power metal quartet. They specialize in a soaring, orchestral variation on European heavy metal. Meanwhile they have registered multiple chart topping albums. This is their 10th full length album, Talviyö. The band continues their departure from their speedy power metal of old, relying on a soothing AOR feel and relaxed mid-tempo. "The idea was to create an album that is musically in line with at least the previous two albums", adds the frontman. "I am very happy with the songs and the general mood of the album. Some career highlights there, I feel." As for the striking album art for Talviyö, keyboardist Henrik "Henkka" klingenberg offered, "We were talking about having an album cover made from a photo and luckily managed to find this award winning photographer Onni Wiljami who actually hails from a village not too far from our hometown and his pictures were just perfect for this album." They currently tour with Kamelot and Battle Beast. Their melodic metal has progressive influences and with the use of an organ sometimes make you think of the band Ghost.
