Alex, an orphan who was raised by his brother, is understandably jealous when Nadia, his childhood love, gets involved with another guy. The boyfriend, Ethan, isn?t even nice to Nadia. Why is she with him?

As Alex observes the budding relationship, it becomes obvious that Ethan isn?t your everyday jerk. In fact Ethan has been lurking around the small town of Freedom, New Hampshire, for an unnaturally long time?and it seems the women of Nadia?s family are dangerously cursed. In the meantime Alex?s own strange powers are growing. He?s healing too quickly from injuries and feels unusually strong.

Meanwhile wolves are on the loose around town, and people are dropping dead only to reappear with unpleasant new cravings for human blood. To top it off, a creepy dark man keeps making sudden appearances?with deadly results.

What?s going on in Freedom, and what?s going on inside Alex himself? Will he be able to convince Nadia of Ethan?s ill intent before it?s too late? The answers lie in Alex?s shadowy past and the long history of an ancient supernatural tribe.
