Just My Opinion - Letters to the Editor

At 99 years of age Arland is still learning, debating, creating and writing editorials about anything and almost everything. With as open a mind as anyone could try to achieve, Arland manages to get his opinions off in funny and interesting ways. He is to the point with clean, precise and witty language. For someone born so very long ago, Arland is one of the most forward thinking progressive people we, his children, have ever known. He has always been interested in everything around him. Growing up with Arland as your father is to observe how he listens to everyone, talks to anyone and charmingly entertains those around him. Arland is a true scholar, able to make connections over ideas and remain steady in the pursuit of knowledge. Most people, under normal circumstances, find it hard to study, read and write as much as dad does. This is all the more impressive when one learns that he continues to do so while legally blind now.
