Yesterday, To-day and for Ever: a Poem in Twelve Books

Edward Henry Bickersteth (1825-1906) was a Bishop of Exeter, in the Church of England. He wrote hymns, edited hymnals, and was an accomplished poet. Nearer My God to Thee is probably his best-known hymn. Yesterday, To-Day and For Ever is a blank-verse poem of twelve books, describing the death of a Christian and his visions and experiences in the other world.
