Reforming Grace Bible Study Series

This is the Leader Guide. Includes answers to discussion questions and fill-ins. See Student Guide for student books where discussion questions and fill-ins are left blank. The Reforming Grace Bible Study Series is the companion work to the non fiction Reforming Grace. Each of these studies are introduced in the book but are greatly expanded here in the Bible Study Series. In Part One, Reforming Liberty, the author uses quotes from Martin Luther's commentary on the book of Galatians to walk through Galatians to highlight the utter and complete freedom found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The church today has forgotten just how revolutionary the doctrine of grace was to the Reformation and the early Protestant church. With the help of Martin Luther's commentary, that revolution has been reborn. In Part Two, Reforming Repentance, the author looks at the proper biblical definition of repentance. Most people understand a superficial idea of repentance thinking it's just a change of mind from their behavior. However, (as the author describes in Reforming Grace) that is the "cultural" definition of repentance and not the accurate biblical definition. With the help of Dr. Baylis from Dallas Theological Seminary, we uncover the proper definition which is vital to understand the proper view of forgiveness. In Part Three, Reforming Work, the author looks at the proper contextual definition of a "doer of the word" from James chapter one and how that supports the truth that the Law of Liberty (chapter two) is completely opposite of the Law of Moses. If you do not understand how important freedom is to the Gospel, then you will never understand how Abraham and Rehab could be commended for their work when they both broke the Law of Moses.
