Nathan Moore is a run-of-the-mill high school student. His grades are better than average and beyond his close-knit group of friends, he is another colored t-shirt in the crowd. His favorite past-time is to bury himself in the classics of Science-Fiction, the closer to the reality he knows, the better. After he promises his best friend that he will read the first book in a fantasy series his group of friends are reading, he begins to dabble in the science behind magic. Where does the energy come from? How is it produced? Why are Mages in the books and movies always frail? Little does he know, the world of magic has its own rules and they cannot be broken. His life is in peril and he doesn't even know it.
