Tanner and Tobbs Pride Prom

After graduation, former boyfriends Nathanial Tobbs and Napoleon Tanner keep away from each other as they get ready for college and new lives. They reunite after a deadly hate attack on a LGBT center in a nearby town threatens to cancel the scheduled prom for queer students to be held during Pride Week. The kids have been looking forward to taking same sex partners, and being able to be themselves in a safe space. Napoleon sees that in spite of the need for mourning and community among older LGBT folks in the wake of deadly violence, that the prom is a crucial event for the students, and that for it to be canceled because of someone's act of hate will only harm the next generation of queer kids and help to keep them invisible and silent. He volunteers to make sure the prom goes on, and with help from their friends Mosunalie Hawthorne and Livitron Goodwell, along with some LGBT kids from the local high schools, Nathanial and Napoleon spend an afternoon getting the venue prepared for the event. Growing up, Tanner and Tobbs had many adventures involving magic from the hidden dimension where all magic comes from known as The Wizenwhere. Thinking their days of interacting with wizards, dragons, and monsters is behind them, they are both caught completely off guard by the arrival of a new enemy. The Absentor is a shape-shifting creature from a dark land who wants to take love and identity away from the LGBT kids at prom. Before they can protect the students, Nathanial and Napoleon are taken back in time to the first Gay Liberation March in NYC in 1970, the Los Angeles Pride March of 1990, and Chicago Pride 2016. In the past they learn of the dangerous struggle and sacrifices of the LGBT community that came before them and are brought back to their own time with a new understanding of who they are as gay and bi men. But it takes more than a raised conscience to defeat The Absentor. To do so, they must learn the power of their own voice and not be afraid to fight back.
