Up the Ladder and over the Top
Bob Alberti
These memoirs of a studio musician follow the life of pianist-conductor-arranger Bob Alberti from his early beginnings in Brooklyn, N. Y. through his early bands, his affiliation with the "name-bands" of the 1950s, the jazz joints of Greenwich Village, the "society bands" of the upper-crust New York elite, and his move to Los Angeles in 1960 which culminated in his position as a respected musical director in the television industry. It's filled with anecdotes from the "inside" of show-biz, along with photos covering over a half century.
