The Law of the Lightning-Maker

In the beginning, the Creator sent the Makers into Creation and instructed them to craft a sword, and into it place the very essence of the thing most valued in Creation, but the Makers disagreed on what this most valued thing was, and so they made many swords for many things, and asked the Creator "which of these is most valued" and the Creator said "none of these." So did the Makers fall out among themselves and fight, and this is the story of the last Maker, and of his actions.
