After the Benediction

Rev. Derrick K. Holmes has written poetry, essays, and social critique that have been featured in various journals and publications across the country, offering commentary on life, culture and spirituality. A frequent guest preacher and conference speaker, Rev. Holmes has conducted numerous lectures and workshops regarding social justice, youth mentorship, and community empowerment. He is also a Licensed Christian Counselor whose clients include families and youth. Rev. Holmes attended Wright State University where he majored in English Education with a minor in African American Studies. He contributes written reflections once a month to his own website, "Are You Up Yet?" (revderrickholmes.com). Rev. Holmes is the Senior Pastor of the Second Baptist Church in Circleville, Ohio.
