Last Stand on the Grand Strand

Professor Chad Reynolds, influenced by the gene pool from both parents, had obtained degrees in marine biology, physical oceanography, and marine chemistry. An accomplished surfer he had followed his dream, the ocean. Chad and his wife Liz join family on the South Carolina Grand Strand, a vacation of forced family fun in Myrtle Beach. The sea offers many mysteries under the best of circumstances. This vacation will be far from the best of anything. Events unfold prompting suspicions that something tragic is unfolding in the coastal waters. Chad and his father-in-law Frederic J. Bornfreund, both an archaeologist and paleontologist, are eventually lured into the events defying logical explanation. Something that should no longer exist does and it is wreaking havoc in the waters as the spring's tourist season begins. Charter boats and shrimp trawlers complicate the situation when making an honest living on the ocean goes tragically and horribly wrong. Toss in an old college nemesis of Chad's and the waters become further muddied. Crossovers from two other T. Allen Winn series make this an exciting read. Characters from the Detective Trudy Wagner series find themselves entangled in the plot. Ties and references to the Foot trilogy (Bigfoot series) are evident. The million dollar question-who will survive the last stand on the Grand Strand? An unlikely ensembled collection of individuals find themselves in a do or die struggle to protect what shouldn't exist while weighing the options of not becoming extinct themselves. This adventure takes 'Jaws' to an entirely new level. A great white is a mere minnow in this new oceanic pond. Do yo feel a little froggy and would you like to wet a hook, then by all means, join these unlikely heroes for a deep sea fishing fiasco. Be warned though, what swims the Atlantic has never encountered humans...until now.
