Last Stand on the Grand Strand

Professor Chad Reynolds, influenced by the gene pool from both parents, had obtained degrees in marine biology, physical oceanography, and marine chemistry. An accomplished surfer he had followed his dream, the ocean. Chad and his wife Liz join family on the South Carolina Grand Strand, a vacation of forced family fun in Myrtle Beach. The sea offers many mysteries under the best of circumstances. This vacation will be far from the best of anything. Events unfold prompting suspicions that something tragic is unfolding in the coastal waters. Chad and his father-in-law Frederic J. Bornfreund, both an archaeologist and paleontologist, are eventually lured into the events defying logical explanation. Charter boats and shrimp trawlers complicate the situation when making an honest living on the ocean goes tragically and horribly wrong. Characters from the Detective Trudy Wagner series find themselves entangled in the plot. Ties and references to the Foot trilogy (Bigfoot series) are evident.
