The Legacy of Su Fei Shen Fu

Tess, on her doctor's advice, retreats to her peaceful mountain farm in Norway to recover from a breakdown and to transcribe the correspondence between her father and his godfather which rekindles her interest in Théo's work in China. Here an old friend from the past turns up unexpectedly. They have much to catch up on, the years of Tess's marriage, and the strange years Grace has spent, many of them as a nun. Back home in Norwich in time to see her young off to start a new term at school and university, Tess is contacted by another friend from the past. With Reb, Tess then returns to Chongqing and Sichuan, to try at last to follow up on Théo's missions, a quest that has dire consequences.
