Ocean Currents

Ocean Currents is the contentious story of Peter and Rachel, a married couple in their 30's aboard the massive cruise liner "Utopia of the Seas." The couple is accompanied by Rachel's parents, brother and sister in law, all whom contribute to the argumentative theme of the story. It's the last day of the trip and they are all cruising up the Atlantic coast from Florida to New Jersey. The mood of the play is combative and gloomy due to the strain of Peter's and Rachel's failing marriage that has taken a toll on both of them. They claim to be in love but they clearly can't stand to be around each other anymore due to their sins of the past. They constantly bicker and fight the entire day, knocking each other down, little by little with each battle until it all comes crashing down in the frantic climax.
