I Want to Be a Duck

A child wishes that they were a duck and mentions some of the advantages it would bring. But, the child soon realizes that many disadvantages can go along with it and is ultimately glad that they are not a duck. This is followed by wishes to be a monkey, elephant, bird, dog, hippo, cat, fish, cow, and frog, all with the same outcome. The child finally realizes that the only thing they really want to be is themself. This book helps build pride, self esteem and even slips in a little teaching about the animals in discussion.
