Ramayana Simplified

7500 years ago Valmiki the first poet was inspired by God Brahma to write the story of how god Vishnu took birth as Rama to kill the evil king Ravana. Ravana did great penance and got set of boons from gods Brahma and Shiva. The boons were: (1) he cannot be killed by gods, or Demons or other celestial creatures. (2) He cannot be killed by wild creatures or snakes or poisons. Ravana thought the boons made him invincible. He did not ask for invincibility against humans and monkeys because he thought they were insignificant. Ravana became arrogant and threatened gods and humans. God Vishnu was born as a human being called Rama. With the help of monkeys and bears Rama killed invincible Ravana and established peace on earth. Rama ruled as an ideal king and his kingdom was known as an ideal kingdom (Rama Rajya). Valmiki has proclaimed many benefits for reading this great epic. The author hopes reading this simplified and abridged version of Ramayana will bring same benefits as reading the original.
