Mathemaical Modelling of Blood Flow in the Internal Carotid Artery: Modelling and Simulation of Blood Flow in the Internal Carotid Artery for Optimum Human Health

ABOUT THE BOOK: In order to provide a plat form for the maximum healthy living, this book is written to study blood flow in the internal carotid artery which is the main artery that supplies the head and hence, the brain with oxygen, nutrients, and blood in general. We have modeled blood flow in the ICA considering the ICA to be tapered in shape and had also considered how the base of the brain is subjected to wave when the CAS is perturbed. We have also made a model to explain the case of occlusion of the ICA. This blood flow pattern was studied considering blood as an inviscid, viscid, and incompressible fluid. The analysis of the result was done and result plotted on graphs using both MATLAB and Matplotlib in the Python 2.6 object oriented programming language to show how the walls of ICA are subjected to pressure and what happens finally to the blood flow and hence the flow velocity. Recommendations were made for enhancing a maximum healthy living.
