John Keats (1795-1821) was one of the greatest English Romantic Poets, inspite of other great contemporaries like Byron and Shelley. He wanted to search for a system of the tragic mystery of existence and offer a mode of release. His short and pitiful life was more ambiguous and complex than what the critics suggested. It was Keats? dream to become a poet. Keats succeeded in pursuing his passion, his true love. Today he occupies place amongst one of the greatest Romantic Poets in English literature. Indo-Anglian literature has occupied an outstanding place not only in India but in European countries also. Toru Dutt (1856-1877) was a remarkable Indo-Anglian Poetess who was like Keats. But her poetic genius was a blend of diversified linguistic cultures. Her poetic creations fiercely brought out her tragic life and the profound impact of Indian mythology.
