Performance Evaluation of Multilevel Inverter: Analysis Based on Total Harmonic Distortion

Harmonics is the one of the biggest problems in power quality aspects in the electrical systems. Due to the presence of harmonics the torque produced by the motor doesn't remain constant and core gets heated up which decreases the life span of motor or load. So there is a necessity to reduce the harmonics. Deep analysis of multilevel inverters and harmonics are presented in this book. The main objective of this book is evaluating the multilevel inverter based on total harmonic distortion. In this book a five level inverter has been proposed and analyzed. In this book an attempt has been made and succeeded to overcome the losses due to harmonics in five level inverter. The experimental results using simulation software are presented.
