This research used state-owned banks and foreign banks as sample and which later can be compared. The research is conducted by analyzing the development of intermediary function which is represented by the loan to deposit ratio using descriptive analysis. later, using macroeconomic determinants such as GDP, inflation, interest rate and financial ratios such as ROA, NIM, CAR, multiple regression analysis is applied with those variables as explanatory variables while Loan to Deposit ratio as control variables. The results from the regression results indicates that the financial intermediary function has been improving throughtout the year but the explanatory variables mostly are not significantly affected the implementation.
