Black Children Cannot Wait
Ederson Lambert
His latest work Black Children Cannot Wait, picks up where his memoir ended. This title is about overcoming circumstance, no matter the background and achieving success in spite of overwhelming challenges of culture and environment. This is a plea, a love letter to young black children, minority children as well as adults in America and abroad to not allow themselves the excuse to fail. It implores the youth to rise above the status quo and to reach for success. It is a plea and a blueprint for parents to start early in their attempts to rear and steer their children in the right path of education in order to have a fighting chance. His experiences of growing up in Miami, Florida where he faced and overcame many hardships inspired him to write. Lastly his tenure as a Chief in the United States Navy helped developed his leadership and incredible drive to want to help others succeed. That drive is what pushed him to want to give back to his community. This book is dedicated to the idea of making the world a better place by articulating the need for education, preparation for opportunity in order for young urban youths to lead successful lives. This book is titled Black Children Cannot Wait, but should be called "disenfranchised," Children Cannot Wait for a helping hand.
