Postapocalyptic Houston, Texas. After the outbreak of a pandemic has killed off the majority of the earth's population, four factions representing different backgrounds and belief systems of the old world struggle to find their path in an uncertain future. One group barricades themselves in a wealthy suburb. Another begins to rebuild a village in an urban neighborhood. A third group concentrates on learning how to defend themselves. But the fourth group is run by the Caretaker-a power-hungry figure who plans to dominate the world. As the survivors of the other factions pull together in an attempt to halt the Caretaker's malevolent plans, an epic clash between the forces of good and evil ensues. And those who survived the deadly virus must now fight even harder to stay alive.
