The Tale of the Two Selfs

This Standard Edition is meant to engage Christians on matters that should deeply concern them about understanding the Bible in light of what Self is-an entanglement of language, consciousness, and morality. For though language was developed during the time the Bible was written, consciousness and morality were still a matter of "group think"-for the psychological Self had not yet been formed in many individuals. But THAT is a game changer in trying to understand how the Bible can now be re-interpreted as a message from God for this moment in time. For its underlying message is built on an incompatible social structure with an individual Self. This book is about the Self. But the Self has always been misunderstood because it is seen exclusively from the perspective the Self is separate from its other selves. But this is a fundamental misunderstanding of how Self formed within a dipolar dualistically designed universe where everything is designed to work in entangled pairs that can't separate. So they must learn to adjust and accommodate. So until the Self is understood in its bigger context of being individuated but being simultaneously an inseparable part of the greater whole sociological Self, it will be misunderstood and harmed. Self cannot grow into the fullness of maturity acting like it is separate from its sociological Self. Neither can the sociological Self flourish if it doesn't respect the contribution and authority of the psychological Self, and back off. They are not two "different" Selfs, just the same Self from two perspectives: one perspective is from the individual psyche, the other is the perspective of the community Self. Since they cannot separate without damaging both Selfs, they must learn how to adjust to each other. That takes understanding the notion of authority and responsibility. For each Self differs in this regard because of their differing roles. This book is about these two Selfs as one complete Self. How they formed. How they must adjust and what significance this has on our personal authority and responsibility (to each other). We must ponder: Is the Ocean of our social Self to impose its design and obligations on each Droplet? Or, do the composite of Droplets impose their design on Ocean? If the former--then the Bible works just fine. But if the later, then we must shift to a different understanding and authority for our values and beliefs.
