John 3:16 used to be the most well-known Bible verse among people who professed Jesus as Savior and even among those who made no claim to faith. It was a pervasive statement because it was repeated so often. Today, a different Bible verse has displaced John 3:16. Although most people, even Christians, cannot identify the actual verse (it is Matthew 7:1), they nevertheless can recite "You are not supposed to judge people!"
