The lone fighter

This book is about me as a contemporary witness, who was significantly involved in the creation of the German anti-terrorist unit GSG9. The story is based on a true incident and tells of the life of a lone fighter who travelled to Lebanon on a secret mission to save his best friend. Moving fates, extraordinary events and courageous decisions. After the secret intrusion of an Israeli anti-terrorist unit in West Beirut in April 1973, which was called 'Operation Spring of Youth', the UN Security Council was so busy that Israel was no longer allowed to carry out secret activities. The Middle East conflict had already dangerously escalated as a result of the operations. During this mission, an Israeli elite soldier named Levi captured. It was the son of the commander of this unit. A liberation action has been forbidden to the Israeli government by the UN. However, I could not accept this decision and so I undertook a secret and risky liberation action, together with the Mossad agent Sarah. This operation was carried out on my own initiative and without any support. For me, the close combat instructor of the newly founded special unit GSG9, it was a great challenge to enter Lebanon, disguised as a vacationer, together with the Mossad agent. On my own responsibility I wanted to free Levi from the clutches of the PLO terrorists and bring him back to Israel. This was my first mission on life and death.
