On 28 March 2023, music pioneer Ryuichi Sakamoto passed away. He was a musical frontrunner no matter what he delved into - whether it was in bands and other collaborative projects, as a solo musician or as a film composer. He left a massive musical legacy, and just months before his death, he released a minimalist masterpiece in the the ambient album 12.

12 contains twelve subdued yet melodic ambient piano cuts, with Sakamoto's own breathing acting as a subtle ambience in the background, adding an extra layer of intimacy and melancholy to the tracks.
