Pulp

Few bands capture the sound and spirit of a generation quite like Pulp. Emerging from Sheffield’s vibrant music scene in the late '70s, Pulp spent over a decade in relative obscurity before achieving a dramatic breakthrough in the 1990s. With frontman Jarvis Cocker’s unmistakable voice and razor-sharp lyricism at the helm, the band became a defining force in the Britpop era, blending clever social commentary with sweeping melodies and glittering pop sensibilities.

Their 1994 album His ‘n’ Hers set the stage for what would become a cultural phenomenon. Just one year later, 'Different Class' catapulted Pulp to superstardom, delivering era-defining anthems like “Common People” and “Disco 2000”—songs that not only topped charts but also captured the angst, aspirations, and contradictions of 1990s Britain. The album won the Mercury Prize and remains a cornerstone of British pop history.

Pulp continued to evolve with 1998’s 'This Is Hardcore', a darker, more introspective work that showcased the band’s range and maturity. After a hiatus, they returned with 'We Love Life' in 2001, closing a chapter that had already left an indelible mark on alternative music.... that is until they made an extraordinary return with the album 'More.' in 2025.

Their influence continues to resonate today, with periodic live reunions stirring both nostalgia and renewed appreciation for their body of work.
