Big Thief | Double Infinity
Big Thief’s sixth album, Double Infinity, is set to be released on September 5 and follows their critically acclaimed 2022 masterpiece, the Grammy-nominated Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You.
The band ecorded Double Infinity in New York City, where over three weeks the trio cycled through frozen streets between Brooklyn and Manhattan to meet in the warm rooms of Power Station. The album was recorded live with minimal overdubs, in collaboration with a close-knit community of musicians including Adrianne Lenker, Buck Meek, and James Krivchenia themselves, as well as Alena Spanger, Caleb Michel, Hannah Cohen, Jon Nellen, Joshua Crumbly, June McDoom, Laraaji, Mikel Patrick Avery, and Mikey Buishas. They played together for nine hours a day, discovering new sonic territory as a collective.
Double Infinity is produced, recorded, and mixed by Big Thief’s longtime collaborator, Dom Monks.
You can also find all the previous Big Thief albums here, and a huge recommendation must also be made for lead singer Adrienne Lenker's solo albums.
