Lee Scratch Perry & Mouse on Mars | Spatial, No Problem
Lee "Scratch" Perry's last official album project before his passing in 2019 – a unique and outstanding collaboration between the legendary dub/reggae pioneer and the German electronic producer duo Mouse on Mars (aka Jan St. Werner and Andi Toma). The album was recorded over just three days at Mouse on Mars' Paraverse Studio in Berlin in 2019.
Lee, Jan and Andi worked with a shifting group of musicians and collaborators in and around the studio's various rooms and environments. On "Spatial, No Problem," the artists break new ground. Lee was absolutely sure about one thing: it should not just be another reggae album.
The release moves freely between genres, drawing on everything from krautrock, ambient, dub, and jazz to New Orleans brass and much more.
