Neil Young & The Chrome Hearts | Second Song
"Second Song" is the second studio album Neil Young has recorded with the band The Chrome Hearts, and their third album in total after the live album "As Time Explodes". The album contains seven songs written by Young. Five of them are completely new and previously unreleased, while the other two are previously unreleased versions of "Casting Me Away From You" and "I Will Love You Forever".
"Second Song" is produced by Lou Adler and The Volume Dealers (Neil Young and Niko Bolas), while Anthony LoGerfo and Manny Adler are associated as associate producers.
The semi-acoustic album musically extends earlier Neil Young albums such as "Comes A Time" and "Prairie Wind". On the new album, each song seems to revolve around new ways of looking at the past, present, and future. The title track's lyrics set the tone: "Through smoking leaves of time the words just tumbled forward in this second song of mine..."
