Vaiana (Live-Action)

Disney's Moana returns in a magnificent live-action reinterpretation of the Oscar-nominated animated film from 2016. The story follows the young Moana, who feels the call of the ocean and for the first time ventures beyond the reef surrounding her home island of Motunui. Here, together with the notorious demigod Maui, she embarks on a perilous and unforgettable journey across the sea to secure her people's future and bring prosperity back to the island.

Catherine Lagaʻaia takes on the role of Moana, while Dwayne Johnson returns as Maui – the role he also voiced in the original animated films.

The film is directed by Emmy and Tony Award winner Thomas Kail, known for Hamilton, and brings Motunui, the vastness of the Pacific, and the film's colorful characters to life in a new, grand-scale version. Music once again plays a central role with the original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foaʻi, and Mark Mancina, while Mancina is also behind the film's score.
