The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension

Peter Weller stars in this (now cult) sci-fi/fantasy film which satirizes generic conventions. Weller plays Banzai the multipurpose hero who crashes into a mountain upsetting the evil Doctor Lizardo's (John Lithgow) plans for nuclear war and world domination by releasing some Black Lectoids from Planet 10. Only Banzai can save the world, and he has to enlist the help of a New Jersey cowboy/brain surgeon (Jeff Goldblum).
