Howlin' Wolf Chess 75 Series, Mono edition
Howlin' Wolf
Howlin' Wolf
Fondly referred to as "The Rockin' Chair Album" due to the depiction of a rocking chair on its cover, Howlin' Wolf's self-titled album is rockin' in more ways than one. This record captures the true sound of the electric blues with a compilation of singles previously released between 1957 and 1961. Featuring the talents of Chess mainstays, including Willie Dixon, Hubert Sumlin, Sam Lay, and Jimmy Rogers, the album delivers a powerful sound. Standout tracks include "Little Red Rooster," "Spoonful," and "Back Door Man," among others.
Started in 2025, the Chess 75 series was launched to commemorate Chess Records' 75th anniversary. The series features a curated collection of audiophile vinyl reissues that pay tribute to the label's profound impact on American music. Each album in the Chess 75 Series has been meticulously remastered from the original analog master tapes. The vinyl is pressed on 180-gram audiophile-quality vinyl at Quality Record Pressings (QRP). The records are housed in tip-on gatefold sleeves printed on high-grade board.
