Miroslav Kultyshev was born in 1985 in Leningrad, and graduated from the Specialized School of the St. Petersburg Conservatoire. In 2007, he won the 13th International Tchaikovsky Competition, and in 2012 he won the Monte Carlo Piano Masters Competition in Monaco. Kultyshev began to perform live concerts very early, at the age of six, and at 10 years old he debuted in the Great Hall of the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic with Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor, K.466 (conductor Yuri Temirkanov). In 2001, Kultyshev was awarded the youth grant of the Russian National Independent Prize, and in 2005 he won First Place and the Gold Medal at the International Youth Delphic games (Ukraine, Kiev).
