Definitive America
Digitally remastered import-only compilation featuring all of the greatest hits since the '70s, for both Warner Brothers and Capitol Records, by this sensational soft rock trio! No single disc U. S. compilation contains as many songs as 'The Definitive America' as this set includes all 12 of the smashes from their 1975 retrospective 'History/ America's Greatest Hits' ('A Horse With No Name', 'Sister Golden Hair', 'Tin Man', 'I Need You', 'Ventura Highway', 'Lonely People', etc.), plus 11 more, including the top 10 'You Can Do Magic'. Accompanying the 23 mellow gems is a photo-packed 24 page booklet with a comprehensive essay by Barry Alfonso (who has also done the liner notes for releases by Bread, John Cale, Eric Burdon & Captain Beefheart, to name a few). The tracks were remastered by Bill Inglot, who has done the remastering on many of the reissues released by Atlantic Records, including Charles Mingus, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding & Rhino's 2000 box set for America, 'Highway 30 Years Of America'.
